About "FREE"
"FREE" is more than a fashion label—it’s a movement that challenges the boundaries of creativity, identity, and modern freedom. In a world dominated by social media, algorithms, and digital distractions, "FREE" seeks to explore the complexities of freedom in the digital age. Are we truly free, or are we simply tethered to systems designed to keep us scrolling, consuming, and conforming? Each piece in our collections serves as a reflection of these questions, blending thought-provoking design with wearable art.
At its core, "FREE" embraces the tension between individuality and control. Through innovative designs like pants with transparent pockets and locked dresses that symbolize privacy, the brand turns clothing into a conversation about technology, human connection, and identity. Every collection invites wearers to not only engage with fashion but also reflect on their relationship with freedom—whether it’s freedom from societal norms, the digital world, or the systems that influence their lives.
With roots in New York City and a global presence across major fashion capitals, "FREE" has gained recognition for its bold concepts and unapologetically experimental designs. Yet, it’s not just about making a statement—it’s about fostering a community. "FREE" aims to inspire people to step away from the endless scroll and embrace real, human connections.
We believe fashion is more than aesthetics—it’s a way to challenge ideas, provoke thought, and push boundaries. At "FREE," every piece tells a story, every collection explores a theme, and every wearer becomes part of a larger dialogue about what it means to be free. Welcome to "FREE," where clothing becomes a canvas for revolution.
About The Founder
Richard Kaulinsh
Born and raised in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, Rich's journey into the fashion world is as dynamic as the city itself. Initially captivated by photography, he spent his teenage years exploring the hidden corners of NYC—climbing bridges, running through subway tunnels, and capturing the city’s essence from the tallest rooftops. His passion for photography, however, took a backseat when he discovered a new love at 16: fashion design.
After a life-altering injury that ended his pursuit of a career as an EMT and Firefighter, he made a bold decision to channel his creativity into fashion full-time. After a year off pursuing fashion on his own, he enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where his hands-on approach and knack for problem-solving found a new outlet in clothing design.
His brand, "FREE," is not just about fashion—it’s a powerful commentary on the concept of freedom in the digital age. He challenges the illusion of freedom that social media and algorithms present, questioning whether we are truly in control or merely puppets of the systems designed to keep us addicted. This theme of freedom and its nuances runs deep in his work, and his upcoming collection will explore the theme of human connection.
With a portfolio that includes participation in eight fashion shows across four major fashion cities on three continents, his impact is already being felt globally. Yet, his ambition doesn’t stop there. He envisions "FREE" growing into a major fashion label within the next decade, one that not only sets trends but also encourages genuine human connection over digital distractions.
As he continues to push the boundaries of fashion, his work serves as both a creative outlet and a call to action—inviting people to reflect on their own freedom and the choices that define it.
